Identity Workshops

Gender 101:  This workshop will discuss and define the terms (gender, sex, gender identity, non-binary, gender fluid transgender, and more); explore our own reactions; and learn some of the variety of ways people experience and live out their gender

Parents:  The first question asked when someone announces a pregnancy or an adoption is usually, "is it a boy or a girl?" We think we know this answer even before a child is born! So when a child of any age tells a parent that they are trans or non-binary or another identity, it can be a surprise or shock. Many parents experience confusion and grief, and most can benefit from some support. It is understandable for parents to have lots of questions, and it generally not helpful to ask your child. Individual or group sessions/workshops are available to learn, to feel, and to process.

Teachers: There can be significant challenges for primary and secondary school teachers related to gender identity.  Workshop will explore some of the issues and some of the current best practices for supporting students and working with parents.
